Dugan Douglas
2012-10-23Donald Gene "Dugan" Douglas aged 66 passed away in Tucson Arizona on October 23, 2012, due to complications from Lymphoma. Born July 24, 1946 in Craig, Colorado to O. Dick Douglas and Betty Ann Douglas. He was the oldest of four children including, Connie (Douglas) Carberry, Vickie (Douglas) Thornton and Ronald Dean Douglas. He attended schools in Craig, graduating from Craig High School in 1964. He lettered in several sports. As a member of Boy Scouts he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Junior College in Rangely Colorado. Dugan was drafted into the Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam. Dugan began work in the "Oil Patch" at age 15 in Northwestern Colorado. His career spanned 41 years with stops in Grand Junction, Co., Rock Springs, Wyo., Abu Dhabi, Carlsbad, NM., ending up in Midland Tx. where he lived for 28 years before moving in September to Tucson to be closer to family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and gave haircuts to "long hairs". There were many "Dugan Stories" told over the years (most of which were true). He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, National Rifle Association and the American Legion. He was married on May 25, 1980 in Eckert Colorado to Mary Ann Bruhn Armstrong. He is survived by his loving (very loved) wife of 32 years Mary Ann. He is survived by two daughters Tawna Kay and Brandi Dee, his stepchildren, Michael Armstrong and Shawn (Armstrong) Edgar, grandson, Malcolm Edgar, sister, Connie Carberry and brother, Ronald Douglas. A celebration of Dugan's life will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 1:30 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2801 N. Garfield in Midland. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the Church.
